At St John the Baptist, we are committed to meeting the national ambition for all education settings to have a nominated sustainability lead and a clear climate action plan. This reflects the Department for Education’s wider strategy to embed sustainability across schools and supports our own commitment to long‑term, meaningful action.

Our climate action plan is shaped by the four national pillars: adaptation and resilience, biodiversity and nature, climate education and green skills, and decarbonisation. Through this framework, we aim to improve energy efficiency, enhance our natural environment, reduce emissions and empower pupils with the knowledge and skills to shape a sustainable future.
